Is Dyslexia a Problem?

Dyslexia causes difficulties in specific areas of learning. Dyslexia is a neurobiological condition that has a negative impact on a large segment of the population.

For those who have it and are not treated, dyslexia is a life-altering disability. It keeps otherwise normal, intelligent people from achieving life goals. Things such as reading a menu or a job application become difficult or impossible. Dyslexia creates stumbling blocks in a world where we depend on the written word for our livelihoods.

An individual coping with untreated dyslexia pays a very high emotional price, and ultimately a financial price, as well. For every rare instance in which a person with untreated dyslexia succeeds, thousands suffer and fail despite all of their efforts to reach their potential.
